Autographed Baseballs in the Joyce Sports Research Collection

This site is an illustrated catalog of the sixty-four signed baseballs in the Joyce Sports Research Collection at the University of Notre Dame's Hesburgh Library. Viewers may access the catalog through either of two indices. The Index of Baseballs provides a item-by-item inventory linked to the catalog entry for each ball. The Index of Signatures provides an alphabetized list of the individual signatures represented in the collection; each name is linked to the catalog entry for the ball on which the autograph appears. For a full explanation of the entries and other relevant information, see the Introduction to the Catalog.

The Joyce's collection of signed balls was built through the generosity of three principal donors: John J. Evers, Jr., son of the Hall of Fame second baseman; Emmit Jennings, a collector from Tucumcari, New Mexico; and Mike Ravine, a collector from New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Viewers with questions or comments about this catalog should contact George Rugg, curator of the Joyce Sports Research Collection.
