Stillingfleet, Edward (1635-1699). Origines Britannicae: or the antiquities of the British churches: with a preface concerning some pretended antiquities relating to Britain, in vindication of the Bishop of St. Asaph. London: M. Flesher for Henry Mortlock, 1685.

Edward Stillingfleet (1635-1699), Bishop of Worcester, was a famed controversialist against Romanist and Socinian elements in England. The Origines Britannicae, as did many histories of medieval and Roman England, examined the sources of British ecclesiastical history in order to promote a Christian tradition independent of Roman Catholicism. Purchased through the generosity of the Bundy Family.
