El Repertorio Americano. Imprint Londres: Bossagne, Barthés i Lowell, 1826-1827.

    Commentary:

Published in London, the Repertorio Americano stated its mission as the diffusion of knowledge about Latin America via a journal that would compare favorably to similar European serials of the day. Topics covered included the geography, population, agriculture, commerce, and laws of Latin America. In addition to publishing articles by well-known authors such as Andres Bello, it included articles by new and emerging Latin American writers. The first volume includes a report and poem on Bolívar’s victory at Junin, Peru; a detailed geographic description of the Orinoco River; and an article on how to grow cotton
