Rosario della sacratissima vergine Maria, Madre di Dio, nostra Avocata dall'opere del R.P.F. Luigi di Granata del ordine de Predicatori, racolto per il R.P.F. Andrea Gianetti teologo . . . (Rome: Domenico Basa, 1585) .

Andrea Gianetti de Salo, O.P. (†1575), a friar in Brescia, compiled the texts in this book from the writings of Luis de Granada, and cast them into the form of the decades of the rosary. Between its first edition in 1572 and 1593, de Salo's compilation was published 13 times, and it continued to be published in the seventeenth century.

In this edition of 1585, twenty-two full-page engravings accompany the text. In fact, the printer, Domenico Basa (active 1580-1596), has used again the plates engraved by Adamo Montovani ('Scultori') for the 1572 and 1573 Rome editions, printed by Giuseppe degli Angeli (Llaneza 1: 216 n° 552, 220-21 n° 560). On the frontispiece, Basa replaces the original signature of the engraver with his own printer's label. The engravings depict the Virgin Mary revealing the rosary to St. Dominic; Alain de la Roche (see catalogue n° 44) preaching the rosary to ecclesiastical authorities (p. 24); rosary trees for each set of mysteries (joyful, sorrowful and glorious), and images for each separate mystery.
