Missale iuxta ritum Fratrum Ordinis Praedicatorum, sub Reverendissimo Patre Fratre Hippolyto Maria Beccaria a Monteregali, totius praefati Ordinis Generali Magistro, Anno Domini MDXCV (Venice: Giovanni Bernardo Sessa and Barezzi Barezzo, 1596) . Hippolito-Maria Beccaria of Mondovi, O.P., studied at Bologna, and was then attached to Sta. Sabina in Rome and the convent of Sta. Caterina De Formello in Naples. He became Master General of the Order shortly before he died in 1589. The frontispiece of this altar Missal was engraved and signed by Giacomo Franco. The large engraving at the opening of the Missal shows the Virgin Mary presenting St. Dominic and the stigmatized St. Francis to the wound-bearing, resurrected Christ, who is well-pleased with his sons. The engraving is initialed "C.P." The Missal includes special Dominican votive Masses to the Five Stigmata of Christ, The Sufferings of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Cross. Like the engraving at the beginning, these votive Masses bespeak the Preachers' devotion to the humanity and Passion of Christ. Appended to the Missal is an Office of Blessed Rose of Lima (feastday 26 August). The inside cover bears a twentieth-century ex-libris of the Dominican Fathers in London.
