Lettere devotissime della beata vergine santa Caterina da Siena (Venice: Al segno della Speranza, 1562) .

This volume of the collected letters of Catherine of Siena (catalogue n° 9) was printed at the famous "sign of Hope" in Venice. The names of the printers at this press are not known; they may have been women. The text of the letters is elegantly set in two columns and is printed in the italic typeface made famous by Aldo Manutio. The title page bears the printer's mark of the allegorical figure of Hope, which graces many important printed books of the sixteenth century (see catalogue n° 40).
