Pedro Ribadeneyra. Vida del P.M. Ignacio de Loyola Fundador de la Compania de Jesus . Madrid: Pedro Madrigal, 1594.

Pedro de Ribadeneyra, S.J., was an ascetic writer. Among his historical apologetic works is the life of the founder of the Jesuits which quickly became quite popular and was translated into Spanish, German, French, Italian and Flemish. He also wrote about his religious order, the lives of other illustrious fathers and various moral-ascetic books. The volume on display also contains two other independent works, the lives of the second and third generals of the Jesuits, Lainez and Borja. The thrid image shows the title page to the life of Lainez, who was also a co-founder of the order.
