Seneca. Opera. Basileae: Apvd Ioan. Hervagivm, 1537.

Seneca the Younger was a Roman stoic philosopher, orator and tragedian. His works were studied throughout the Middle Ages and the Renaissance and were a particularly powerful influence in Spanish letters. Stoics believed their lives were determined by forces ("fate") beyond their control and they could only respond with a spirit of resignation and acceptance. This volume features a rare example of a signed and dated binding, created in 1542 by "S.T."
